Jerry Mandel – Managing Director

In his capacity as Managing Director of Galil Capital, Mr. Mandel has been Founder and CEO of various real estate investments funds that have invested in the USA and Spain.

Prior to founding Galil Capital in 2003, Mr. Mandel was a Director of Investment Banking and the Head of the Merrill Lynch Tel Aviv office. Mr. Mandel worked for Merrill Lynch for nine years in its Investment Banking Division in New York, London and Tel Aviv.

In his most recent position at Merrill Lynch from 1998 to 2003, Jerry was responsible for Merrill Lynch’s Investment Banking activities in Israel. Mr. Mandel was involved in many of the international equity, equity-linked and debt offerings as well as cross border M&A transactions that took place in Israel between 1998 and 2003. From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Mandel was an investment banker in Merrill Lynch’s Latin American Group in New York where he participated in the origination and execution of many international equity, equity-linked and debt offerings for the Governments of and major corporations in Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Argentina.

In 1996-1997 Mr. Mandel was the CFO of BRM Technologies, a leading Israeli VC investment firm and co-founder of Checkpoint Software Technologies (Nasdaq: CHKP) and Backweb Technologies (Nasdaq: BWEB). Mr. Mandel was involved in the origination, execution, monitoring and monetization of BRM investments. Mr. Mandel actively participated in BRM’s investments serving as Acting CFO of BRM’s portfolio companies.

In 1989-1990 Mr. Mandel was an Operations Management Consultant with Yissum – Management and Engineering Systems.

Mr. Mandel has served as Director on the Board and Member of the Audit and Compensation Comiittees of Kornit Digital Ltd since 2015.  Mr. Mandel has served as a Director on the Board and Member of the Audit and Compensation Committees of Direct Insurance – Financial Investments Ltd. since 2008. Mr. Mandel served as Director on the Board and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the pension funds of Bank Yahav in 2005-2008. Mr. Mandel also served as Director on the Board of Cellcom Israel Ltd in 2004-2005.

Mr. Mandel received an MBA degree (Dean’s List) from Columbia Business School in 1992 and a B.Sc., magna cum laude (graduated #1 in class) in Industrial Engineering from Tel Aviv University in 1989.
